India vs Australia 2017 ODI T20 Series Preview

A tussle that has gained even more importance than a India vs Pakistan match since the inception of Border Gavaskar Trophy. It all begun with Sachin vs Warne and has taken cricketing rivalry between these two nations to another level. Both the teams are exceptionally strong at home and hard to beat. It has almost been a trend now that India wins at home and so does Australia down under. Last time when Australia visited India they lost the test series and now they tour to India for ODI and T20 series.

The build up

A series involving Australia doesn't really go without controversies. And especially when you have Virat Kohli on the other side, things get bigger. Steve Smith and his men will find it daunting to keep Kohli quiet. He is always pumped up and full of confidence. Down the memory lane, we have seen some absolutely wonderful innings from Kohli against the Australians.

Australian team just managed to level the test series against Bangladesh. To every one's shock they faced a defeat against Bangladesh in a test match. So they would certainly be a bit low at confidence. A win over India can boost their confidence.

With Ashes in the reckoning, they have a lot ahead of them in future. Similarly for India, they have a tight schedule ahead which involves series against New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka.

Prediction

Cricket outcomes are hard to predict. Especially when we have two heavy weights like Australia and India facing each other. Still we can predict an upper hand for India. Inclusion of Jadeja and Ashwin would have been a better choice for the selectors but that didn't happen. T20 series is absolutely difficult to predict but ODI series should ideally go India's way.
